Derek Havran
Derek Havran is a Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Derek began training martial arts in 2007 studying Boxing, Muay Thai, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and MMA. Derek received his Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in 2017 from Jay Hayes under the TAC Team association. Derek has won competitions in both the United States and South America while also living and training in Ecuador and Chile.
Throughout his martial arts journey, Derek has had the opportunity to train with and learn from former UFC champions, BJJ world champions, ADCC champions, and Catch wrestling champions. Derek began teaching BJJ and MMA in 2011.
Derek has a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education as well as a Bachelor’s Degree in History from Fairleigh Dickinson University and is certified in NJ to teach K-12th grade. Derek and his wife own a children's tumbling and fitness company which he has been managing and teaching classes since graduating college in 2007. Derek and his wife Tricia are parents to two lovely daughters, Zuzu who currently trains and competes in BJJ and Judo and 2 year old Ripley.
